When we go down south, we love to stop at this beautiful restaurant. The view directly at the sea is stunning. The offer COFFEE BRUNCH COCKTAILS BY THE BEACH, the service is awesome. Attached to restaurant is a small shop with artistic work from the community. My picks: Bagel with Egg Benedict and Hollandais Sauce. Hmmm.
We normally go here, when we want to have a holiday. Enjoy the sunbeds at the beach of Unawatuna. This is very close to what they call a beach club. They have a wide variety of sandwiches, seafood, local food and salads. Enjoy the view over the beautiful bay of Unawatuna.
You swim here almost all around the year. It's a very buzzy restaurant mostly with an international crowd. You get the best seafood pizza in the whole island here. Often it is a party like feeling. Enjoy it!

This place offers local Sri Lankan food and very well made Indian food in combination with a white table cloth and a very good service. The waiters have all been working here for many many years. It's a very friendly place to go, if you want to take out your family for a sunday dinner.
Lasitha's in Ahungalle
This is the best local place in the area. You get anything from roti, to string hoppers, to egg hoppers to kottu roti to buriyani. If Lasitha is closed, people tend to stay hungry.
You must love this place! It is situated in a beautiful colonial house at the main road in Unawatuna. Offers a hand picked, very well curated book shop integrated in a cafe/restaurant. You can have a healty lunch or enjoy the best caramel macchiato with a carrot cake.
